Who runs AsaasIQ
AsaasIQ is an independent site owned, written and reviewed by one person: Abdul Wahab, a software engineer based in Lahore, Pakistan. It is not a company, a media group or a newsroom, and it has no editorial staff beyond him.
Articles are bylined to him by name rather than to a house identity, and every byline links to his author page.
What AsaasIQ is not qualified to do
The owner holds no licence or professional qualification in financial advice, investment management, accountancy, tax or Shariah scholarship. AsaasIQ therefore publishes general educational information only. It does not provide personalised recommendations, manage money, execute trades, or tell any reader what to buy or sell. See the full disclaimer.
How articles are researched
Every factual claim about regulation, market structure, rates or process is checked against a primary source — the regulator, exchange, tax authority or official scheme document — and linked so readers can verify it. Pakistan-specific material is checked against PSX, SECP, SBP, MUFAP and FBR. Material about another jurisdiction is checked against that country's own authority, such as HMRC for UK tax.
Where a claim cannot be verified against a reliable source, it is omitted or explicitly flagged as uncertain rather than published as fact. We do not invent statistics, tax rates, fund performance figures or regulatory details.
Figures that go stale — market counts, tax rates, scheme inventories, settlement rules — are date-stamped in the text so a reader can see how current they are.
Use of AI assistance
AsaasIQ uses AI tools as part of drafting and editing, in the same way it uses them in software development. This is disclosed because readers of financial content deserve to know how it was produced.
What that does and does not mean:
- AI is used for drafting, restructuring, summarising source material and checking consistency across articles.
- Source verification is not delegated to it. Links are opened and checked, and figures such as tax bands, rates and market counts are confirmed against the primary document before publication.
- Nothing is published unreviewed. The owner reads and approves every article, and is accountable for what appears on the site regardless of how a draft was produced.
- Where a source could not be verified, the claim is removed rather than published on the assumption that it is probably right.
Review and updates
Each article shows a published date and a last-reviewed date. Content is reviewed periodically, and immediately when something material changes — a budget or tax-year change, a regulatory amendment, or a change to the market facts an article relies on. Updating an article moves its last-reviewed date; the original publication date is preserved.
Corrections
Corrections are welcome and are not hidden. If you find an error, email corrections@asaasiq.com. Every report is reviewed. Where a correction is needed the article is updated and its last-reviewed date changes; where a claim was materially wrong rather than merely outdated, the correction is noted in the article itself.
Independence and advertising
AsaasIQ does not accept sponsored placements, paid reviews or paid links inside educational articles. No broker, fund, bank or issuer pays to be included, excluded, praised or ranked, and no article recommends a specific product in exchange for payment.
The site displays third-party advertising, which may be served by Google AdSense. Advertising is separated from editorial content and never determines what is written or what conclusion an article reaches. What data advertising partners may collect is described in the privacy policy. If affiliate or referral arrangements are ever introduced, they will be disclosed clearly on the pages where they appear.
Calculators
Calculators run entirely in the visitor's browser. No figures entered into them are transmitted, stored or logged. Each states its formula and assumptions, and the underlying calculation logic is covered by automated tests. Results are estimates based on the inputs supplied, not predictions. See the methodology page for the detail.
