Our methodology

How our calculations are performed

Every AsaasIQ calculator is built on plain, disclosed formulas — there is no hidden model or proprietary algorithm. Each calculator page states its exact assumptions, including whether compounding is monthly or annual, and whether contributions are assumed at the beginning or end of a period. Calculation logic is covered by automated tests to verify correctness for standard cases (zero return, contributions only, lump sum only, etc.) and edge cases (invalid or boundary inputs).

Calculators never use live or fetched market data. All outputs are projections based entirely on the assumptions you enter — they are not predictions, and past or assumed rates of return do not guarantee future results.

How we select sources

Where an article makes a factual claim about regulation, market structure or process, we link to primary, authoritative sources wherever possible — including the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan (MUFAP), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). We do not invent statistics, tax rates, fund performance figures or regulatory details. If a claim cannot be verified against a reliable source at the time of writing, we either omit it or explicitly flag it for editorial verification rather than presenting it as fact.

How articles are reviewed

Each article displays a published date and a last-reviewed date. Content is reviewed periodically to check whether cited facts, links or general market structure descriptions remain accurate, since regulations and market details can change over time. Reviews focus on factual accuracy and source validity, not on promotional content, since AsaasIQ does not accept sponsored placements within educational articles.

How corrections are handled

If you spot an error — a broken link, an outdated fact, or a calculation issue — please contact us via the contact page. We review correction requests and update the article's content and its last-reviewed date when a change is made. Material corrections are not hidden — the last-reviewed date reflects when a review or update occurred.

Future market data

AsaasIQ does not currently provide live PSX stock, index, ETF or mutual fund data, and does not scrape or redistribute unlicensed market data. Any future real-time market data feature will only be introduced once we have secured proper, legal data licensing from the appropriate source. We are not promising a specific launch date for this feature.
